Shasuryu Shasha is the leader of the lizardmen's tribes and chieftain of the Green Claw Tribe. His younger brother is Zaryusu. He is a skilled warrior in addition to a proficient druid, which allows him to complement his weapon attacks with magic. Unlike other lizardmen who have bone weapons, his sword is forged of pure steel. Incredibly huge in stature, he has dark green and charcoal black scales, a trait which he shares with his younger brother. Numerous scars are present all over his body, the most prominent of which is an old, long white scar, which stands out amongst his dark-colored scales. Shasuryu follows his ancestors’ traditions, but he is also not blinded by them and is one of the more practical minded lizardmen, as evidenced by the decision to support his brother's innovative idea, which led to the creation of the fishery farms near the Green Tribe village.

Shasuryu Shasha led the chieftains, save Crusch Lulu, and a band of the strongest warriors of the Lizardmen Alliance in the duel against Cocytus. The majority of the warriors perished in one fell swoop due to Cocytus's freezing ability, and only the chieftains remained. Ultimately, Shasuryu and Zaryusu were last lizardmen to be left standing. He sacrificed his life in order to create an opening for his brother to attack Cocytus. Unfortunately, his brother was unable to cause damage, and was also slain shortly. However, their acts and sacrifices in battle were not meaningless, since they earned Cocytus' respect, which later influenced Ainz's decision to resurrect them. After Zaryusu was resurrected by Ainz's magic, the lizardman petitioned his brother and Zenberu be resurrected. Ainz replied he would consider his request, which he later granted.
