  1. Masaru Daimon

Masaru Daimon 大門大
Height 131 cm (4'3") The "leader" of the Warriors of Hope and the head of the "Hero" class. His title when he attended Hope's Peak Elementary was Li'l Ultimate P.E. (超小学生級の体育の時間 lit. Super Elementary School Level P.E. Period). Masaru is a naive, cheerful, hotheaded, and extremely energetic showoff who constantly brags about his role as the hero and leader of the Warriors of Hope, despite the fact that he earned the latter title just by winning a game of rock paper scissors. He loves to boss others around, calling himself "Lord Masaru Daimon". Although he's rather childish and arrogant, Masaru is very focused on becoming the ruler of Towa City and the children's paradise, and genuinely cares about the people he leads. He takes his role as the "hero" very seriously, working hard to be seen as brave, fearless, and undefeated so that the other children won't need to feel afraid anymore. His Past and Trauma
SpoilerMasaru grew up with an alcoholic father who would verbally and physically abuse him for the smallest of reasons. He would also make Masaru buy alcohol for him, which ended up forcing Masaru to repeatedly steal in order to do so, as he couldn't buy alcohol at such a young age. In spite of this, he was terrified that his father would abandon him. Because of this upbringing, Masaru constantly believes that everything is his own fault because he can't do things properly like his dad wanted.
During the Tragedy
SpoilerAround the time when the Tragedy was first starting, Masaru was on the verge of committing suicide with the other Warriors of Hope when Junko Enoshima appeared and stopped them, convincing them that the adults are wrong and that they should create a paradise for children. Junko then took the five under her wing, and shortly afterward, Masaru murdered his parents with no regrets.
SpoilerMasaru is the first of the Warriors of Hope to challenge Komaru and Touko to a battle, with the intent of killing them. However, the two end up defeating Masaru, and he is then dragged away by a swarm of Monokuma Kids, leaving only his headphones behind. Despite the kids' reports that Masaru was "captured by adults", Monaka insists that he died, and appoints Nagisa as the new leader of the group. In the end it's revealed that Masaru, along with the other defeated warriors, actually survived.
