Hikaru is the son of Toshiya Satou and Daigo Shigeno's friend and former baseball teammate. Hikaru first appears as he transfers to Mifune Elementary, appearing in front of Daigo and Mutsuko being eager to meet the son of his dad's best rival.

In a game against Touto Boys' Daigo accidently crashes into Hikaru resulting in Hikaru being paralyzed

After rehabilitation, Hikaru transferred to Tsujido Academy where he made it into the varsity team. Hikaru changed his surname back to his mother's maiden name. Hikaru can no longer pitch since the accident.
