Rou is a former figure skater from Tokyo. After his mother's death and winning his last competition, he ends his career and moves to his grandfather's place in Tomakomai (Hokkaido) together with his twin sister Haruna. He then enrolls in Miyamori Junior High for the remaining few months of the year. After students' pleas, Rou reluctantly joins his school's failing ice hockey club, but soon develops a genuine interest in the sport, resulting in him joining ice hockey team in Oinokami High School after graduating junior high.
