According to Vannie, she was actually the daughter of the king of Arena and one of his servants. Her mother then died when she was still too young to remember, however that didn't stop the Queen from turning her resentment on Vannie. She grew up in a tiny corner of the castle, barely allowed the freedom to leave her room. That was, until a rebellion broke out and turned the city into a warzone. She managed to get out of Arena by the help of Ashen Fowl, leaving her friend, Tzita, behind to stay there and stage her death from her pursuer. Before parting, Vannie was given a coin they found during a storm as good luck charm. She then moved around from place to place until she ended up on Quin Zaza.
