Isabella Bird イザベラ・バード
She's a female explorer and writer from Yorkshire, England. While many of the explorers of the time were men, she made a number of achievements in traversing Hawaii, the Rocky Mountains, and other parts of the world alone.
In the early Meiji era, she traveled to Japan to record the "Edo" culture of Japan, which would soon be lost due to the opening of the country, and together with Ito, an interpreter hired in Yokohama, she set out for the Ainu settlement of Ezogashima, a "virgin land".
Since childhood, she has a chronic disease in her back that cannot be completely cured.
