Height 100cm (3'3") A robotic bear with an AI inside of him. He's an ally to the Resistance. Shirokuma is a friendly, compassionate pacifist who hates fighting and conflict more than anything. He's the one who rescued all of the adults and essentially created the Resistance and its base: a safe haven for adults to live to avoid being killed by the rampaging Monokumas and Monokuma Kids. Shirokuma has an unquestionable status as an idol among the adults there because of their extreme gratitude towards him; they trust him completely, never questioning his motives and praising him for everything. Shirokuma seems to care about them and try to protect them from danger.

In chapter 4, Shirokuma sacrifices himself to block a hole in the Resistance base that swarms of Monokumas are coming through. He asks Komaru to shoot him so that he'll explode (since he has explosives packed in his body, but he can't self-destruct) and block the hole to save the adults. However, shortly after he explodes, it's revealed that his head and AI chip within it survived, so he can continue to live.

At the end of chapter 5, Big Bang Monokuma attacks Komaru, Touko, Monaca, and Haiji in Towa Tower, but they don't know who's controlling it. After a fierce battle, Komaru and Touko manage to destroy the Monokuma, but in the resulting explosion, Shirokuma's head is ejected from the mecha— revealing that he was actually the one controlling it the whole time.

In the end, it's revealed that Shirokuma is one half of Junko Enoshima's AI, meaning that his personality is only an act. It's heavily implied that he needs the other half of the AI, Kurokuma, to be whole.
