Maxi is abused by her father and compared to her half sister in every way, she is told that she is to marry a knight and she does so fearing the same treatment. She has almost no self esteem, and due to the abuse she suffered she has developed a stutter, something she is very self conscious about. Maxi's speech impediment is based off of the original author's own personal experience with having a stuttering speech depending on mood and level of excitement.
