However, his desire for power led him to kill both of Hayan's parents and eating her father's heart, turning him into a half-pureblood vampire. He attempted to take Hayan's heart to become a true pureblood but stopped himself out of sentimentality for their friendship, although he shows a seemingly renewed interest in taking her heart as an adult.
