Since she is of noble origins she is initially coveted by Liang Yu amongst all the other students there. She scores second on the entry exam in terms of innate magic power and hence becomes a pupil of Vice-Principal Xu together with Ye Xinghe and Liang Yu. She states to Vice Principal Xu that her ambition is to roam free among the land unfettered by familial affairs. She slowly becomes passionate with regards to Ye Xinghe but because of her pre-existing arranged marriage, she sometimes tries to deny her own feelings about it and is ambivalent about the situation.
