Kochou 胡蝶

After desperately chasing the acceptance of her classmates she somehow finds herself drifting away in a river. For unknown reasons, the dream seller Shirogane finds her and gives Mejiro a new life as a yokai by placing a butterfly’s dream inside her in order to keep her alive. She becomes an existence akin to youkai and cannot go back to the human world. She repeats over and over that her wish is to be needed by someone; all of her actions reflect that desire. In the underworld, she learns to depend more on others, since she believes she is a burden to people. Kochou (which means butterfly in Japanese) is the name given to her by Shirogane, since the dream inserted into her is of a butterfly.
