Mashiro, who sits next to her, bothers her in a number of ways, and in order to improve herself, she pushes herself to confront Mashiro and "like" her. She had previously been unable to make it in time for her preferred school's entrance exam after helping a girl (Mashiro) who had collapsed, so she took an exam for a nearby private high school instead and enrolled there. When she reached high school, she changed her hairstyle and switched from glasses to contact lenses. Her family consists of her parents, younger brother, and two younger sisters.
