Makoto is Akina's older brother and an otaku. Akina has an extremely negative perception of him, regularly calling him "gross," even though he is actually considerate and kind. Unbeknownst to either of them, the two bond in an online MMO, with Makoto giving useful life advice to his sister. He is a university student and is popular with many of Akina's friends, much to her exasperation.
