Ritsu is hired as a home-helper by Masaru for Shigeji's parent's house. She returned to her hometown where Daitome is located after staying with her now deceased mother while she worked at a hostess bar. She looks after 5 orphaned children from the district's welfare institution and, after the facility had burned down and the director had been admitted to the hospital, she requests for them to stay at Shigeji's parent's house with her.
