Hisame was one of the four Handmaidensto serve in the Kuze Shrine and the last one to be chosen. Hisame's original surname was not Kuze; however, when she went into service at the shrine, she was given the adoptive surname of Kuze.

After the Unleashing, the Rift began to engulf the Manor, and continued to spread in spite of attempts to contain it. The Kuze Family mistress instructed Hisame to impale the remaining Pacifiers in the Enclosed Room. Hisame was the last to die at the manor after the Unleashing. She wrote in her diary that she would go to sleep "forever and ever". Her spirit continued to impale dolls on the wall.
