Enkidu is known to be Gilgamesh's only true friend and much like him, they regard their friendship highly. While they may have the appearance of a human they're nothing more than a doll made of mud, shaped and given life by the Gods. Before assuming their current form and acquiring intellect and knowledge, they spent a long time roaming the forests and thus has a deep connection with nature. The task given to them was to reprimand Gilgamesh tyrannical behavior and bring him back into the service of the Gods but the might of the two was equal and they developed a tight bond fighting together. Enkidu's corpse, which was buried in the graveyard of the underworld, was taken. Kingu is a chimera created from Enkidu's corpse, although the puppet itself does not find out until later on.
