She is an adoptive daughter of a wealthy ninja family, however she was chosen to be the next head of her family over her brother, who is a failure as a ninja. Her summoning animal is the Chinese Phoenix. Her weapon of choice is the Katana, Hien which has been past down to her by her adopted father.
