Ichijiku is the director at the research institute. His job is the supervision of "witches" and the management of "Sorcerian." He deploys people to capture and retake witches A-rank and above when they escape. He is cold and mercilessness demeanor meant that his regard for human life is meaningless. He treats every witches in a very cruel manner which for him they are merely his tools, he also has no hesitation of deposing any witch whom he sees unworthy to live. It was later on reveled that his interest to join the clandestine research institute was to find a way to revive his long dead sister Rena, where he conducts his own experiment behind his superiors back where he feeds some of his sister's brain into Kotori's grane hoping that his sister's memories would live inside Kotori but with no success, however it did accelerated the grane inside Kotori to hatch sooner than he expected.
