Takafumi is Tomoyo's younger brother. Just when Tomoyo's family is about to break apart, Takafumi attempted suicide in hope of reconciling the family. After he is hospitalized, Tomoyo's family reunite again for the sake of their family. He enters the same school as Tomoya one year later. He plays as a secondary character in Clannad's sequel Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life.
